Forge your Fun
Citadel: Forged with Fire has an impressive array of features that players can get into, although getting to the meat of the game will take more time than average players are used to. Upon starting the game, you'll have the choice of jumping into a solo world of choosing from user-rented and official online game servers. While playing with others is imperative to get the most of your time with Citadel, it can be fairly relaxing to enjoy the world alone as you work to gather materials and complete quests here and there.
If you don't have much time to invest into gaming, Citadel may not be for you as it demands time to open up to you and your vision of gaining effective spells and creating your own structures. If you are into survival games and enjoy starting from scratch, Citadel may be a good option to look into.
There are small bits of story that you get as you play through the game, but there's not much backstory on the world of any conflicts. You're really playing the game for the experience of building up your piece of the world and exploring as you seek to gain effective resources to traverse the world as you please.
The game does a great job to introducing all of its beginning elements to you via in-game prompts, so you're not overwhelmed with the options you'll have in the game. After the first few hours, you should be able to collect basic materials and clothe your character before understanding the next layers of the game such as basic crafting and quest pursuits.
The game gives however much 'game' you want from it, which is why playing more will provide the experience you may see from gameplay videos and trailers. While looking flashy and fun, getting there will take time.
Citadel: Forged with Fire has actually been around for a few years as an early access title on the PC, and the developers have promised a strong roadmap for 2020 full of improvements to deliver to the available platforms. If you're survival titles and are looking for a new time sinker, Citadel could be for you to try out.
