"Rockford™ and Crystal™, heroes of Boulder Dash®, one of the greatest classic video games, get their bits and bytes together to make their Next Gen-Debut. Back in the 80’s, when hairstyles were wild, music was electronic and video games were sold on Music Cassettes in Europe (yes, it’s really true!), Boulder Dash® won our hearts by storm. The creative and frantic gameplay mix required both our reflexes and brains to avoid murderous rock slides of Boulders and get our hands on those precious Diamonds in 20 fun-filled Caves infested by Fireflies, Butterflies and Amoebas. In 2011 our childhood heroes take it to the Caves again on Xbox 360 in Boulder Dash® - XL™! Leaving the essence of what we all love about Rockford’s classic quest for Diamonds intact, Boulder Dash® returns Next Gen-Style, with new, exciting Game Modes, Gameplay Elements, Monsters and more Diamonds to snatch than ever before!"

I don't know too much about this game, but is seems to be a pretty wacky. I guess playing a demo for the game will help explain what it is all about.

Check out the details on Catherine below!

"Explore the pleasures and horrors of love as Vincent, a man with a hard choice to make: marry his longtime girlfriend Katherine or move on to the incredible blonde he just woke up next to—named Catherine! But beware! Make the wrong choice, and you could end up dead. F.E.A.R. 3 keeps the conflict in the family

The Fear games have always included some nice weaponry, bizarre creatures, spooky moments, and random Alma encounters, and Fear 3 follows this formula as well. This time around you control Point Man and Fettel, Alma's offspring, as they set out to find their mother and decide on what to do when they reach her since she's ready to give birth to her new baby.

Things are a bit tense throughout the story since Point Man can not seem to ignore the words of his dead brother whom he shot in the head once before, but still manages to affect his decisions about what to do when they find Alma. The first play-through of the game will have you playing as Point Man. As the first brother, you can slow down time to pull off head shots, and utilize the many weapons you'll come across in the roughly 4-5 hour campaign. After completing the game as Point Man, you can return as Fettel and possess enemies to use their guns on one another, as well as fire projectiles at enemies while in your regular form.

If you've got a friend or want to partner up with a matched player, you can play the entire campaign in co-op, which could set up some cool moves since Fettel can lift enemies in the air, which could give Point Man time to pull off easy headshots.

The story is pretty interesting, although there were some times where I was a bit confused about what was really going on, since other characters from the Fear series appear that I vaguely remember who have their own agenda going on.

Whether you're playing the campaign or the new multiplayer modes in Fear 3, you'll be gaining experience to level up which will unlock bonus attributes in the game. Another cool element that Fear 3 has is challenges that reward extra points. These are similar to challenges you would find in Modern Warfare 2 or Black Ops, but appear in all modes rather than just multiplayer.

For multiplayer, you can play Contractions, a Horde-like survival mode with waves on enemies, F***ing Run where players must fight through enemies quickly since stopping will kill you from the wall of death, Soul Survivor which has four players against each other with one player playing as a possessor which can enemies to kill the other three players and turn them into Spectres before the time runs out, and Soul King which is similar to Soul Survivor but all the players play as Spectres and must possess enemies to kill each other and collect dropped souls.

Fear 3 introduces an online pass, which includes a few of those modes mentioned, so you'll have to buy new or pay $10 to receive all the modes for Fear.

Fear 3 isn't really that scary, since you'll be engaging with combat against soldiers most of the time, but the game does have a few creepy moments. When you do see Alma, it's pretty brief, but the main spooks come from a new mysterious creature that is closer to the brothers than they may know.

With solid shooting mechanics and a decent set of multiplayer modes, Fear 3 does a good job of continuity the franchise. At the time I reviewed this, the game was on sale for $40, so if you can grab it that price, I would say to pick it up and play with a friend.

Mortal Kombat gets the reboot it needs and deserved

Mortal Kombat fans had to stand by as Capcom unleashed Street Fighter IV in 2009. That long running franchise which garnered critical acclaim from fans re-lit the fighting game flame when it was released. Fast forward to now, Street Fighter IV has had some digital and retail updates, and Mortal Kombat has begun releasing it's add-on characters.

As with Street Fighter IV, Mortal Kombat has returned and gotten back to it's roots; the violence is over the top, the fatalities are brutal, and the game is back on a 2D plane accompanied by great 3D visuals.

The great element about the Mortal Kombat games has been the many modes you can play, and this version is no different. Once at the main menu in Mortal Kombat, you'll find classic Arcade mode, Story mode, online play, and the series of 'Test your' modes. If you want to take to the fight to the online community, there are a few cool modes for online play as well, just make sure you the buy the game new, or purchase the $10 pass to play.

The first one I jumped into was Story mode which retells the story of the first tournament and Shao Kahn's attempts to take over Earthrealm. The story is well done and features about 16 chapters in which you'll control a different character to advance the story. The story mode is only a few hours long depending on the difficulty you choose, but it's only one part of the Mortal Kombat experience.

A new feature to this iteration of Mortal Kombat is special meter bar. This bar allows you to beef up regular attacks when used before the meter fills up, but when you have a full bar, you can unleash a devastating X-ray move. Every character has a specific X-ray move that show different parts of the body when damaged by the moves the fighters perform. These moves are easy to pull off, but you have decide on whether to save up the bar, especially when fighting against an actual person.

Besides the X-rays, Fatalities make their triumphant return, and each fighter gets about three to unleash on a victim. When you hear the announcer say 'Finish Him' or 'Finish Her', you know what comes next, and you've only got a few moments to pull it off. It was tempting to just look up the finishers on Youtube, but when you pull them off yourself, it's much more satisfying.

I talked a little about the modes, but one I wanted discuss more was the Challenge Tower. The Challenge Tower mode includes 300 stages that feature specific challenges for players to complete that range from defeating an opponent without jumping, to fighting with no arms, or not using any special moves.

Tag-team is also a cool feature for Mortal Kombat. It allows four players in one match, with two players at a time until their partner is tagged in. Players can also use assist tags which call in their partner to quickly attack and leave. Other fighting games have had tag-team modes, and Mortal Kombat makes it a fun addition to the game like others have done before.

Ed Boon and his team at NetherRealm Studios has returned Mortal Kombat to the status that is deserved: Brutal and Fun. After experimenting with weapons and including DC heroes, MK9 is a throwback to the original game we all played and enjoyed.
