The original Bionic Commando came out for the NES in 1988. Now in 2009, we are only a few days away from it's return. We already had a taste with last year's Bionic Commando: Rearmed, which was a updated version of the classic game that introduced Players to Spencer, the soldier with a Bionic Arm. So mark your calendars, because Spencer Returns on May 19th. Hey, that's tomorrow!

"Bionic Commando is back - Arm yourself! Swing, shoot and smash through an epic singleplayer campaign, or go online and challenge other players in a gun blazing swing-o-rama."

Haven't heard too much about these games, but they will both be out Wednesday along with a trial so you can see what it's like. Here are the details:

"Gel: Set & Match offers brain-busting fun for everyone with its unique take on puzzle gameplay. Match colored blocks together and they melt, but throw a melting block into another one and the chain continues! In Puzzle Mode, blocks are arranged to test your wits. Action mode throws in a side-scrolling twist and challenges you to clear a path. Battle mode puts you up against your friends in fast-paced multiplayer showdowns. Jiggle up, and get ready for fun!"

Gel: Set, Match will cost 800 Microsoft Points

"Compete in the sport of robot Badminton. Challenge sixty computer controlled opponents over three levels of difficulty. Invite your friends to play multiplayer matches or Round Robin tournaments with up to twenty players. The unique control scheme allows for blazing fast action and responsive control."

Blazing Birds will cost 400 Microsoft Points

Instead of Bionic Commando Rearmed, this is our deal of the week.

"Play with 8 entirely new characters, 4 heroes and 4 villains. Free title update required to play. Do not download this pack if you have purchased Marvel™:Ultimate Alliance Gold Edition, due out in May 2007, as the new playable characters are already included in that version of the game. TM & © 2006 Marvel."

This is a great game, but does any one play anymore? Also The gold edition of the game comes with this DLC, and you can find it for around $10 in some stores.

New Tony Hawk game should be interesting to hear about. Can it hold it's own against the succeed of Skate? I guess we'll have to find out whenever they show it. Maybe E3 will have some form of Tony hawk to check out.

Players control Violette Summer, a British SAS agent sent in to various locations to gather intelligence on the enemy, or to kill targets that are deemed too dangerous. You arsenal consists of a knife, flashlight, silenced pistol, and Morphine. The Morphine once triggered, freezes the world and allows Violette to stealthy kill any target in the time allowed. Why is there morphine in this game? well Violette is recalling missions she was sent on while recovering in a bed where she recovers from wounds revealed later in the game.

Later in the game you receive more tools and weapons to use including sniper rifles, flare guns, and assault rifles to dispatch the enemy in sections of the game where "guns blazing" in the only option.

Although the story is good, and the music provides for a nice atmosphere, this game has many faults that may drive some players away. Joystiq went as far as to quit playing this game for review and now has a new type of articles where they explain why they stopped playing certain games. Velvet Assassin is the first of those games, and I can kinda see why. The game has only a few places where the game saves and causes players to repeat sections where you might have stealthily killed 5 or more soldiers, only getting killed and having to try again. Also Violette isn't very tough, as one or two bullets, or melee attacks from soldiers is enough to put her down.

Overall if you like stealth action games, give this one a rent because the later parts get interesting and the story wraps up nicely in my view.
